Trillium US Inc, headquartered in Clackamas, OR, has announced a new partnership with Solid State Cooling Systems (SSCS) effective October 8th, 2018.
Focused on temperature control applications, SSCS provides state of the art energy saving thermoelectric chillers to a wide range of industries. This new partnership will serve to further the adoption of SSCS’s ThermoRack and Nikola product lines within the semiconductor industry by appointing Trillium as its US and Israeli based sales and service partner.
“This partnership serves a number of purposes for Trillium and SSCS,” announced Graham Stone, President and CEO of Trillium. “We gain access to distribute a cutting-edge product with massive benefits for our semiconductor customers by displacing old and unreliable freon-based chillers, while also being able to provide the existing SSCS customers with more localized service,” he added.
Trillium currently serves the refrigerated temperature control needs of the semiconductor industry from its three US based facilities. “Adding a product and service capability on thermoelectric chillers to our portfolio is a no-brainer for us, and the SSCS systems already have a great reputation for providing reliable and energy-efficient temperature control,” said Glen Murray, Trillium’s General Manager and VP-Operations.
Trillium has significantly grown its temperature control offerings over the past ten years from providing basic repair service and refurbished equipment from Oregon to also include new products and spare parts. This transition began in 2009 when Trillium purchased the rights to the Edwards TCU 40/80 product line, and later that year by acquiring the chiller repair division of Air Products, then bringing that capability to the Texas and Northeast markets. “Adding SSCS’s portfolio to our existing product line further solidifies Trillium’s position on temperature control units within the semiconductor industry,” added Rob Breisch, Trillium’s VP-Sales and Marketing. “Our semi customers can further consolidate their chiller repairs with us as their one-stop shop, and we can provide a reliable and affordable new chiller to support new installs and upgrades of LAM Research, Applied Materials and Tokyo Electron etchers,” he explained.
The distribution integration is already underway and Trillium plans to begin servicing existing SSCS ThermoRack and Nikola systems before the end of the year. “Our immediate focus and number one priority is to ensure this transition is implemented quickly and seamlessly for our mutual customers,” stated Graham Stone. He added, “The SSCS team has been an absolute pleasure to work with on this project, and we believe this partnership will quickly proliferate their product within semi fabs.”
